My Hypertherm 45 has a built in air regulator.

Couple replies from Jim Colt at Hypertherm also.

Most important is to protect machine from moisture.

A motor guard filter is most important. I actually run a Sharpe water separator then into the motor guard filter then into the machine. Might be overkill but moisture can wreck the consumables.
