Subject: Hypertherm powermax 45 xp? Do I need a pressure regulator?

A new Hypertherm powermax 45 xp machine here. I am/will be new to plasma cutting. My 2-stage air compressor will cut out at about 165 or 175 psi.
The book says to use 135 psi air max. Should I add a pressure regulator, so I don't blow something out? Do I need one? The book doesn't give any specifics on a psi regulator that I could find.
What kind of a regulator do you recommend? Will a cheap little one for spray painting from TSC or harbor freight do what I need?
Also, is buying consumable from Amazon etc. and other online sellers acceptable for this machine? They are a LOT cheaper than from the welder dealer. About ow many consumables will I go through? 100- 3 foot cuts per set on 1/4-inch materials? So far, I'm totally inexperienced so a little clueless.
I hope I like this this machine. Any opinions or tips are appreciated.
