I saw this on Facebook. In the comments, some folks said that these never actually made it to production. The reason given, was that Cat didn't take too kindly to the idea of a competitor, and put their foot down. Whether that's true or not, I don't know.
Regardless, it's the first I'd heard that Deere had ever even attempted a highway-engine project.
Great info, thank you. Word on the steet was that when GM was shopping for a new engine to replace the 6.5, JD sent an Inline 6 Powertech. Too bad they did not choose JD, would of been awesome. |
