Subject: RE: GM c70 with Deere diesel

Western Oregon
GM and Deere worked on a lot of projects. The little Iron Duke engine, heads for the series 50 4cyl Detroit. the 60 serie Detroit, 435 JD tractor with the 2-53 Detroit.

JD made motorhome chassis's. They made a few GM over the road trucks with JD engines. Most of the trucks were recalled. Some say the 414 JD, part of the 329, 359 family were used, others say the 404 but it was pretty heavy for the horsepower. The 359T with 4 valve head was about 240 hp. They did produce a lot of sales lit. A few trucks were not recalled. Some say the big V-8 engine in the 50 series JD middle bender was put in a few trucks too. I think Penske had more to do with stopping the Detroit JD deal, or lack of it working out. DEDEC engines....James
