Get battery and tools from ifixit.

Put the phone in a food dehydrator for an hour on a lower setting. The heat will allow the screen to be easily removed and the battery once it warmed up.

I replaced my iPhone 8 battery after it puffed up and swelled the LCD in the middle.

Don’t forget the outer gasket that’s an adhesive for the outer lcd area to keep it water proof. Ifixit has tear down videos as well. You have to be careful with the guitar pick around the edge as there are flex cables near the edge. The video shows the locations of these.

Tiny screws inside as well. Makes eyeglass screws look like lags screws in size. Disconnect battery prior to disconnecting lcd screen. Can damage the driver if you hot swap the lcd.
