Yes, and yes I’ve used it for what you are wanting to do, I’ve also used a Severe duty mower for the same purpose. They do exactly what you want, however they make a mess and send pieces everywhere.

If I can, I prefer to push the trees out and burn them. If it’s limbs you want to get rid of, I think a limb saw would work great and then burn those limbs. One machine sawing, another machine with a grapple piling.
