| There was a post in machinery that made me think.Back in 2007 I was testing tractors and one day there were engineers we hadn't seen before following one tractor down the line. When it was built one of the engineers told me to do as many of the regular tests that I could but that my software would have problems on certain tests. The tractor said it was an 8430 but I think it was really the first R series. When I got done I was told to take it to the loading dock and the local Deere dealer hauled it back to PEC for more testing, instead of going to a holding area for the trucking company to ship out.
I went to an auction once to buy a spare tractor to run augers and use around the buildings,it was a heap of junk and brought twice as much. as a tractor in good shape would go for, because the serial number was 1.
I wonder how often the tractor with the lowest serial number is really the first one off the line. | |
