It seems like certain parts of the economy are doing pretty well while others not so much. Overall it "appears" to be a robust economy but I think a lot of it is smoke and mirrors. Don't forget we are in election year. The Fed has been attempting to tame inflation but that appears to be failing as well. Now it appears that the Fed may not do anything with rates this year when they has been forecast to have four to six cuts. It's hard to gauge anything being an election year. Even with higher interest rates and all time high deficits people continue to borrow and add to personal debt. It sure looks seems like a bubble that will get a lot of people wet when it pops. I think the appearance of a strong economy is very deceiving. They aren’t adding personal debt as much as you think. A very large % of consumer finance applications are now being denied. They’re trying too add debt, just not able. |
