| Hi, I just recently got the gsi watchdog with my new dryer but never had the time to hook it up this fall. I tried to attempt to hook it up on a rainy day with a wifi extender but I could never get it to work. So I called up the local internet provider and they came out to look at it and said there are two main options, point to point or direct hook up with a lan to router. Because the dryer thinks the router is the internet so they have to bypass the router for the dryer. Has anyone had issues setting it up? My other concern is that they said I need a static ip to view the dryer outside of my wifi range. I was just curious if I were to get a ayrestone wifi booster and put it on top of my bin would I still need a static ip since that wifi could boost it a lot further than any regular wifi extender? | |
