Holly Hill, SC | Thank you for your opinions. My thoughts: Exact apply added about $75k to the price tag. Also I keep equipment 10 plus years. How many expensive nozzle clusters will I go thru? Our ground is flat with irregular field shapes. Exact apply will be slightly better than section control at headlands. Curves are not too severe to worry about. I use AIXR tips that works from 10 psi to 90 psi which gives plenty of range in ground speed while maintaining a set spray rate. I realized a few years ago that farming is not an exact science and spray applications can be off by +/- 10% and achieve the same results. Fertilizer +/- 50% and same results (Nitrogen can be a little more picky). Proper weather is key to everything. I try to keep my farm operation efficient and limit the bottlenecks in the operations and keep input costs as low as possible while still either matching or beating my neighbors yields. (neighbors have the same seasonal weather as me which can make or break yields in South Carolina)
If 95% of my tank fills will be full tanks and I use a tender with pump and chemical induction to fill the sprayer, what would be the advantage in the Auto Solution option?
Edit: I read one of your post from 6 months ago and you explained the 20% production increase due to Exact Apply. Very interesting. We have zero shallow waterways snaking across our fields. If it is a waterway in our field, it is a ditch which I will have to drive around anyway.
