northeastern Ohio | I had a 95 chevy 4x4 half ton with a v6 gasser and 3.73 rear end. It would get about 17 mpg on the highway. Not bad, but I wanted more mpg. I tried a chip, but it didn't help at all. I then bought a pulley kit for it and gained about 2 mpg. I was amazed it made that much difference. The parasitic loads of the alternator and steering pump really show up on a small engine like that. I am not sure that you would notice a difference on a V10 as they would be using a lower percentage of the total hp to begin with. | |
