I can tell you that is the prevalent attitude in my area and has been for 10 years.
Just be careful it doesn’t become the operating plan. Guys get hooked on half assing the farming and drawing a check. For a year or two your gross income may be good, but it will fall off. At some point the net gets too low and you have to go back to farming. But at that point a guy won’t have much of an insurance guarantee so he can’t borrow enough money to farm it right.
