You guys need to quit advertising these HIGH rent numbers on this forum or anywhere really. I know its interesting but it only gives greedy landlords ammo to try to get higher rents. There are plenty of lower rents too but the tenants are understandably not going to talk about it so these discussions really skew things. Average rents just arent anywhere near the numbers being discussed here. Even the Iowa cash rent survey posted on this thread showing county averages says at the top of the column it is the average for high quality ground, not average. Just quit having these extremely lopsided conversations, especially if you rent ground!
What is the definition of a greedy landlord? Currently looks like any person that owns ground and rents it is not greedy. If they were greedy that would sell the ground @ current values pay the tax and get 5% plus on their money. |
