NW Iowa | I seen that one.
See if the park works. If it doesn't it's either the pawl or the gear and the pawl.
If its the pawl you can fix it from the outside. If it's the gear you have to split it to fix it.
You aren't buying much, and you know it, it's a $3000 tractor. Sell the loader off
If you can do the work yourself you won't be out much.
If you have to hire it done, meh...
Looks to be a 73, it doesn't have the upgraded front hubs. Only 6 bolt vs the 8, I'm surprised with that loader he hasn't busted them
As most things out west, it's sat out and is pink.
Side window you can get in a junk yard.
If there has been no fluid in the rear tires, your rims should be good.
If you decide to junk it, i would be interested in the rear wheels, next time i go by with a semi.
By the time you rebuild the cab, tires, head(might have to plain it), and everything else.
You could be around $8- 10K in it.
Ask him if he has got the side tins laying around for it. You want those if you can find them.
If you want to check the hyd, lower the 3 point. Then raise it while you turn the steering wheel.
If the 3 point stalls it's weak. That's if the 3 point hasn't been locked up and is stuck. You can lock them up on the back.
Is this a multi power or 8 sp tractor. If its a multipower, put it in high first, with multipower on, 1500 rpm or more, and try and stop it with the brakes
if it holds its good.
If you have no brakes, your seals will probably have to be done in the rear axle.
The devil is in the details....... Look it over and make and educated decision.
Just don't buy it because you think its cheap. | |
