Yeah you can run it all day with a head gasket out just take the radiator cap loose so you don't blow the radiator. If youre serious about the tractor any cheap IT manual is enough to change head gasket. Just be sure to run it for awhile like an hour then be sure to retorque the head with it warm after you put new gasket in.
