| I tried on a Samsung several years ago. It didn't work correctly after I put it back together, too many tiny connections for too big of hands.
If the phone is in good shape, I wouldn't hesitate to drop $70 to get a new battery.
If it doesn't go back together properly or you need the stupid little tools, you'd be money ahead to pay the $70.
Possibly not yours, but Apple LOVES to make their phones purposely difficult to work on either by copious amounts of glue or special fasteners that take a special screwdriver.
My wife and I both are using refurbished Note 9's (released in 2018) and both have had new screens and batteries by now, still going strong.
MUCH cheaper than upgrading and being chained to a contract or spend $3-600 bucks upgrading.
