Generally speaking anything under about 100 or 120 grams per day is considered low carb.
The standard American diet is around 300 grams carbs per day. Add a bunch of soda pop or deserts or candy and a person can pretty easily get to 500 grams carbs a day. And that is a bunch.
20 grams is VERY restrictive. Wife and I have been at that level for 5 years now come February 1. With a handful of exceptions along the path. | |
