Driftless SW Wisconsin

JohnW - 1/26/2024 11:48 The oil industry is spending lots of money stirring the pot with their anti-electric car campaign and it just bleeds over into NAT. https://www.politico.com/story/2019/09/16/oil-industry-electric-car-...

I believe the auto dealers are also turning anti-EV once they have started seeing how much less service department time is required for a battery EV vehicle vs a gasoline or even hybrid ICE vehicle. The difference in regular service required by our EV vs our gas SUV is dramatic.

The current evolution from ICEs to EVs in many (but not all) applications is probably reminiscent of the change from horse drawn to the early ICEs.  And as then, the whole industry will change, regardless of the PR. In 5 or 10 years the charging infrastructure for EVs will catch up as gas stations evolved in the early 20th century.
