EC SD | You are describing the way my local co-op operates. They know they cannot move the market, and they also have bylaws that prevent taking naked positions on the board of trade and also prevent holding physical without hedges...
These giant corporations do not have any such bylaws nor constraints on speculation. They also have the capital to move the market any which way they like, at least in the near term. Please don't pretend they are altruistic and put the producers interests ahead of their own corporate greed. They exist to make profits for their shareholders, in any "legal" manner possible, and that is about it... | |
