Nebraska | If you don’t want to just sell her, you can take a brand new scalpel, and with her head caught really good, make a quick, clean cut right across the popeye. Don’t be bashful doing it because you likely only get one good strike. Then squeeze the socket and eye to get all the jellylike innards out of it. That’s what we do when we get one that can’t close their eye. Saw a vet do it that way and while I am sure it hurts like crazy, it works. It’s not for the squeamish but she’ll be able to close her eyelid and be more comfortable once it heals up. | |
