Seen that! Was at a friends shop where another truck mechanic hangs out, medium size trucking company brought a five axle dump in for some routine maintenance and mechanic found one dry cheater axle that had eaten off the nut and threads, he cleaned it up ,jammed the nut back on and welded it. Not something he would normally do but this customer "deserved" it.
