Western Oregon
My first 1450 plow was a 5-18" bought new with a 4430 in '73. I really liked the xxx5 series Massey's until the 40 series JD's came out. But you had to run MF plows, sure didn't like them. I loved the 1085's. 3- 1105's were good tractors. I had 4440's and a 4640, all P.S and hfwa but ran on-land 1450 with them. But a late model 5-18" 1450 plow behind a 4240 P.S. hfwa was the perfect combination. Cushion coulters with big concave disc blades. I had 1 2745 and that was the end of me and any new Massey. I ran IH combines until a 105 JD, then 6600 and 7700 after that. I was out of farming after '92 from health issues. Son runs a 4040 P.S. hfwa and a 2550 4x with cab.

Back in the day I ran 4020 and 3020 JD but Oliver 3pt plows. Really liked the little sub soil points on the frogs. Pulled as easy with them, then other plows without. Little IH 3bt 3pt plows were good and pulled nice. Never ran JD before the 1450. Demo'ed the switch plows. Hard NO.

I still think the xxx5 Massey in-line engine tractors were the best looking tractor ever. Next was 504/early 656 and 706 Farmalls. But my all time favorite is a Farmall H....James
