Pulling axles on a Mexican Deere 6603 to put in new brake plates. A small lip of the fuel tank is molded over the axle housing covering one bolt. A slight change to the mold, and a pint less fuel capacity, and I wouldn’t have to wrangle the fuel tank out of the way. I’m convinced that serviceability is very low on the engineer’s priority list.
Deere engineers are following CaseIH lead...they've been doing stupid sh*t like that for decades. Wrap around fuel tanks are plain idiotic.
