Pulling axles on a Mexican Deere 6603 to put in new brake plates. A small lip of the fuel tank is molded over the axle housing covering one bolt. A slight change to the mold, and a pint less fuel capacity, and I wouldn’t have to wrangle the fuel tank out of the way. I’m convinced that serviceability is very low on the engineer’s priority list.


People say parts men should be a mechanic first an engineer should have to do a five year apprenticeship as a mechanic in whatever field they are planning to go into before they can graduate
