| In my opinion....
What then President Trump could/should have done is say "Hey, perhaps we need a discussion on the transparency of elections in this country. Maybe election day should be a national holiday ensuring everyone has time to vote."
Instead, he became the first ever incumbent President of the United States to declare the election was stolen.
The former argument is how we used to discuss things in this country. It might have even won over some voters he hadn't previously persuaded.
The latter argument just undermines American democracy and further fans the flames of dissent.
