I went to Lamma, the machinery show here on Wednesday and took some photographs for your delectation.

It's a good show, all indoors and the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. The 300 mile round trip took 7 and a half hours, which was moderately truamatic, and as this is a sort of showcase for British agriculture, you'd expect some decent food, but the NEC saw to it that the food was both expensive and of mediocre quality, which is annoying.

There was a good range of stands, Krone had a very big stand and Agco had two, one for Massey and one for Fendt and Valtra, for reason only they can explain. Deutz had a stand larger than their presence in the UK would suggest. I think Kubota had a bigger stand than CNH. I always like the small exhibitors the best, all sorts of interesting stuff on the small stands.

Deere, Claas and Grimme weren't there. Quite how that will play out for them long term is anyone's guess. They will be ok in the short to medium term, but all those kids that were there this week will be calling the shots in another 10-15 years, or at least sticking their oars in. If the big player get complacent, there will be plenty of other brands to choose from.
