We have a pole saw that will reach 17'. Only problem with a pole saw , the higher up you reach the more you're underneath the limb. We use a bachoe with an extendable to break off we can. Sometimes for tough or larger limbs someone will get in the loader bucket of the backhoe with the polish. With the polish the saw operator can reach out in front to cut the limb reducing chance of a limb kicking back & knocking him out of the bucket.
