| Have always used a pile saw but it has its limits and tough on the shoulders getting older. Also impossible to reach high branches that dip down low. Like to cut them flush with the tree trunk ideally.
This year I am going to attempt to chain/strap a tote cage to the skid loader forks, use a hard hat and fall protection to trim limbs back with the pole saw. Skid steer operator goes backwards only to avoid running over the cut limbs and branches. Once we get to the end, switch from pallet forks to grapple and drive forward to pile it up and burn it. Hoping to push cutting back from 3-4 year to maybe 5-6 since I will be cutting more of the branches. | |
