Dairy herd that is resistant to salmonella means calves could look great. Bring them home and bam all your other ones become deathly sick. Can vaccinate for such things. Or go through the needles and baytril. Just one example of many different possibilities. It’s not a game for the faint of heart cattle feeding. It’s a “grosbeak”. Very hard to win. Have to be 100% committed. Time is biggest cost for cattle.
