Nw Iowa | What kind of hours did you buy others at? Just curious, wondering how it worked out as far as repairs? Not critical at all, just your experience and education for myself. We have had our share of expense on lower hr ones so not throwing stones at all. Out of 6 - 8R’s that brother and I have, we had to go into 1 IVT at 2000 hrs which Deere stood all but about 10000 and had a clutch pack thrust washer break at 3000 hrs on a PS, that cost 12000 with no help from Deere which was just one of those freak things. Our dealer did say that the IVT’s pulling higher speed planters were showing a few more problems than the PS. We have earlier 8320R that has been a great tractor but at 4000 hrs had to work on ILs and steering cylinder was starting to lose its chrome ( poor original parts) and by time steering tube and ILS was fixed, that got expensive. I am guessing for what you are using them for IVT and ILS are nice features hauling higher speeds and pto work but I would tend to stick with a PS and non ILS for cheapest cost per hr and cheapest purchase cost just for dependability but if spreading manure on frozen ground, the non ILS will not be very popular to your help. | |
