SC WI | I have a 7500 hour 8R, my buddy has a 10k hour 8R. He puts 500 hours a year on it and is currently looking for a second with half the hours.
Here’s the issue, a 300 hp 8R with ILS with 8-9k hours is $125k plus. Likewise one with 5000 hours is $160k or so.
So the better buy is getting a 5000 hour one IMHO.
Another thing to note is that a 10k hour 8R is worth fixing and holds its value well compared to others. There is a nice 8235R with 20k hours for $70k locally, for comparison.
