That’s almost exactly 100 miles, with a rate of fall of 1’ per mile. It worked out almost perfectly for drainage.


I'm not sure what you know about drainage, but a foot per mile is definitely not perfect for drainage. In reality, it's only slightly more than the curvature of the earth, which means it's basically flat.

I know quite abit. A foot per mile over +100 miles, without any hills, BEFORE they started dredging is nearly ideal. If naturally, it had more fall than that without any hills, it would drain itself. If you’re questioning it, read and research what Sloughclub, suggested.
