Subject: RE: Swamp drainage machines

Bloomfield MO
Moss and Lee Tie Co. was a player. All of Missouri had been logged and somewhat in the process of development, before SEMO. Swampeast Mo., was a wild and inhospitable place and was the last place, there was bears, wolves and cougar. Look up, “The Grandin Sawmill” on YouTube and these were the precursor logging companies, prior to logging the Great Swamp. One of the largest mills was Gideon Anderson, in present day Gideon Mo. my Ggrandpa had a section at Peach Orchard Gin, that he and his brother cleared alone.
