Southern Missouri
Yes there are books written of the project , Lee Wilson’s land lays just south of the south eastern Missouri drainage project and back before Southeast Missouri project was initiated, the land Wilson had in north east Arkansas was more naturally drained to the south and also east into the Mississippi River . The Southeast Missouri area just needed a litte nudge by the system of drainage ditches that mostly are only 10 to 20 feet deep to flow down to the natural drainage area of Wilson’s land and the natural drainage that existed there , the area actually covers from Cape Girardeau Missouri to Helena Arkansas but strangely the northern end of that Mississippi delta area was what need the nudge work to send its swamp water on to the south that was actually just a few feet lower than that area of Southeast Missouri
