Thanks for the report, and looking forward to reading more posts about your trip. A few questions:

- does your Tesla do regenerative braking on the downhills when at highway speeds, or is there a speed limit to regen braking occurring? With all the long downhill stretches on some mountain roads, I'd think if the regen braking was active then, you'd recoup a lot of energy.

- do you get the stats on the Tesla display showing how much energy was recovered by regen braking, such as between one charging time to the next charging time, or between selected travel distances?

- are there any projections as to the life of the battery, depending on the level of charging used? In other words, is the battery life somehow reduced by using the fastest charging rates as compared to the slowest charging rates?
