West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
It reads like a lack of charging infrastructure is more the issue than range of the vehicle.

Believe it or not, there was a time in the not so distant past when fueling a diesel powered personal vehicle could cause some range anxiety on a longer, back highway, cross country trip...especially during the winter. A person always wanted to run on the high side of half.

Times have changed since the early 80's.
