Thanks for the report I found it interesting. I'm not against having one but they wouldn’t be good for our trip to AZ. We do drive 600-700 miles a day sometimes in the winter. it doesn’t sound like the Telsa would work for that. Shorter trips would be fine.


600 to 700 miles a day would be quite doable with a Tesla. Our longest day was 570 miles or so and in a way it was still leisurely as we stopped for an hour and 20 min of sight seeing and didn’t leave the hotel parking lot until 9:34 AM (according to the Tessie app). In another way it wasn’t so leisurely though as we didn’t start hauling our bags into our hotel that night until 11:19 PM.

On that day we charged for 2.5 hours which included being charged enough for the first leg of the next day. Speed limit was 75 for 2/3 of that day so we were going 82 most of the time.

If you wanted lots of sight seeing plus 600 to 700 miles of traveling a day, that would be pretty tough in the Tesla.
