Milo will sprout in the cow dung pile. I would not bale milo that's been allowed to make grain. Unless you enjoy dealing with foundered and bloated cattle.

Corn will sprout as well. Milo is slower to digest than corn, why is it any wose? I have grazed milo stubble with cattle and turned sheep out onto fully headed out ready to combine milo and have not had any problems. Sure any grain will cause issues if overfed but I don't think milo is bad especially whole milo since it is slower to digest.

I think it all comes down to how much grain they are getting per a day and how its balanced out in the diet. If they are eating 20 lbs a day yeah they are going to have problems in the long run regardless what grain is being fed. If he mixes 1 bale of milo day in a tmr with enough fodder that they are getting 5 lbs a day it then I see nothing wrong with that.
