Subject: RE: Skid Steer Use Question/ Thoughts. HD Cutter Verses Tree Puller and Grapple

Kettle Moraine, WI
Third on the stump bucket. 3 inch tree is more of a "just plow straight into it" size and it cuts or pulls out when on a big enough skid steer or ctl. Prefer ctl. I like quality welding services stump bucket (out of suamico wi)

Pullers are good. Rent one first because it won't work if you are in the "take it easy" spectrum of operations of a loader. If you can't shake in a skid loader you won't like it and it won't do well.

Big mowers are nice but expensive. I would say it comes down to what percentage of the trees you can't do well with your current mower cutter. If you mow what you can mow well and dig what you can't, then you might have a good system to clear fast and cheap.

On grapples, I am of the opinion that a container brand grapple can work well for occasional use if not abused. A container brand at auctions can be had for a equivalent of a few days rent from a rental place.
