what should they be bringing?
Well, 10 years ago at this part of the cattle cycle they were bringing $3000 as an average. With inflation and higher fat cattle prices they should be 33-3400. Fat cattle is the locomotive that pulls the train.
Wonder how much pasture and hay have went into row crops the last 10 years. These guys buying pasture ground for $5k/acre don't want cattle on it, just food plots and ATV trails and game cams. The Batistas will buy what beef they can here, but they'll haul it up from South America to make ends meet. Sure isn't much being done with our beef check off dollars to build future sustainability and growth into the production side of the business outside the corporate feedlots.
