I have been asking this question for the last 10 years. We buy concentrate, and mix our own. I would honestly like to know why antifreeze doesn't test the way it used to, because now whether you buy 50/50 or mix your own, it only shows about -10 to -15F unless you mix it 60/40.

I know I've posted on this forum, and on HEF, and nobody has ever been able to explain why. I have not tested with a refractometer, not sure I care. Just want to know why the specific gravity testers aren't reading what they used to.


I normally mix 75 25 anyway but I just tested another tractor today and it only shows 25 below and it’ should be mixed close to 60 40 anyway
