Isn't antifreeze heavier than water? If so even a 50/50 mix should weigh more than that. Maybe those scales have tare weight set. I don't know but have been trusting that type of tester for years. I do try real hard to just keep a 50/50 mix in everything. I do notice that my reading doesn't always say -35 though. I have some that show -20 which is plenty good for hear. Even that -10 would be good here. I have noticed a different reading between cold and warmer antifreeze mix.


I antifreeze 50 50 is lighter than pure water but I don’t know
