| Is there a good saw shop locally? A real saw shop, Stihl has pushed their line into most retail stores now that have no business selling saws. I’m talking about the crusty old guy that smokes swisher sweets and uses bad language, that’s the shop that will keep you in good service and not sell you junk…also they’ll make loops off a roll and they’ll be half the price of the retail stores. Anyway, a pro Stihl or Husky are both excellent lines, Echos are solid as well. The great thing about Husqvarna is you can still buy a XPG that has heated handles. 261 Stihl or 550 Mark 2 Husky would be great options that offer slightly more than what you’ve got. If you need more power than a 50cc saw get a 462 Stihl or 572 Husky and keep the 251 for small stuff. The problem with the 60cc class is they are a little heavy for small work and too small for large work, although a 562 Husky in its latest iteration is a solid running saw, the early models had carb issues. | |
