No merchandiser, supplier, or banker has ever pressured me to sell. The suppliers and banker want paid on time and in full, but doesn't everyone the world over? I must just be too small because no elevator or end user has ever tried to give me marketing advice - unless of course I ask for their thoughts.

There is a difference between therm pressuring one to sell and having some motivation to have a bias that wants you to sell. The bias is much higher for merchandisers because they typically get a bonus on either margin per unit, or bushels handled or a combo.

So naturally they want to handle the grain versus one of their competitors

Beyond that it becomes veery debatable, but i think you find slight instances of the same motivation existing in others that influence decisions.
