Southeast Washington | In the Palouse itself a few hundred feet of change is accurate. As you get closer to the bigger rivers you may have a couple thousand feet of elevation change. Following the Snake River south you will get in Hells Canyon which is 8,000 feet deep. It is a couple thousand feet deeper than the Grand Canyon.
We have one field/farm that begins at 1700 feet and the top end is 3200 feet.
Here is one of our fields that from the road to the top of the cropped land is 900 feet with another 300 feet above that and farmed on top also. That would be 1200 feet from the bottom of the canyon to the top of the ridge and then it keeps climbing into our mountains that top out locally at 6400 feet.
I'll try attaching a couple photos from below and at least one from above. From above remember there is still 300 feet more higher from the top edge of the farmland.
