I am in the 6-10" area for where we farm. We got a big shot of rain one Friday-Saturday (3-5") and by Sunday afternoon, guys were out again and not leaving tracks in the field, and very little mud on the tires. Haven't seen much for water anywhere. Deer hunting spots were dry when normally there is standing water. Ponds, lakes and streams are low. Need snow or rain to build up surface water and some subsoil. Heard from an excavator/dirt contractor that he dug a 16' hole to bury trees, and never hit wet soil, and no water filled in the hole while it was open. We need moisture. Hoping this weekend's rain materializes. We still have plenty of time for a change, but when I need a light spring jacket in the middle of December where there is no snow or moisture, I have concerns for next year.
