Accomplished climber but if you do this stuff long enough a freak thing will happen. I believe he got done climbing, looked over an edge and it collapsed. Look at back country skiing and extreme skiing. In many cases one mistake and you die. There's a long list of guys and gals that lost their live in their 30's-40's following their passion.
