What you're thinking will work just fine. I don't think you can put 2 per row, I assume you were thinking for a 2x2x2 setup. If that's what you you want I'd look at Precision Conceals or 360 Bandits.

I ran single disk 2x2 openers in full tillage for years. If the boot is too tight to the blade they can drag but it takes about 100 feet to know if that's a problem and make adjustments. Traded planters last year and the new one has Conceals. I thought they worked great and I don't miss having the single disk openers out front.

I know a lot of guys say dribble out the back but I sure wouldn't want to do that. Get the N below the surface.
