When I SCUBA dived. The shop had a portable compressor @4k psi. They also had three banks of storage tanks in a converted U-Haul.so after first dive they fill from bank one. The old steel were 3k to 3300 IIRC. Aluminum similar pressures. Once it went under 2800 you top off bank 2. Then 3. Normally plenty air for 2.5 day weekend dives.
