Did I say it’s not a middleman? I just said I was very happy with them. The 3$ fee probably made me 75$. Negotiating trade with the packers sucks, most are flakes, hard to contact and miserable to deal with. Sure you can find a good one here and there but then you’re left without leverage just accepting anything you can get. Negotiated trade is not a good thing for the beef industry, there is very little holding them accountable to a fair price. I had 19 different packers bidding on my lots, that’s a lot of exposure for 3$ From literally all areas of the country, Plants in 7 different states. Auction is true price discovery. FYI the heifers I sold in September brought 7$ over where the board was and negotiated trade was less than the board at that time.
